Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the mobile application Learn AI (the “App”), developed and published by Shanal Purohit (“we”, “us”, “the Developer”), handles information. Please read this policy before you use the App.
Summary: All course content in Learn AI is bundled with the App and can be read fully offline. The App has no user accounts, no sign-in, and shows no advertising inside the App. However, the App is not entirely free of data processing: (1) optional course packs can be unlocked through Google Play’s in-app purchase system, and (2) the App includes the Meta (Facebook) SDK, which shares a limited set of advertising-measurement data with Meta Platforms so that we can measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns. This policy describes exactly what that involves.
1. Information we do not collect
The App does not collect:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or any other contact details;
- Account credentials — the App has no sign-up, sign-in, or user account of any kind;
- Location data of any kind, precise or approximate;
- Contacts, photos, media, files, calendar, microphone, or camera data;
- Your payment card, UPI, netbanking, or other payment instrument details — payments are handled entirely by Google Play, and we never see or store this information.
2. Information collected for advertising measurement (Meta SDK)
The App includes the Meta (Facebook) software development kit (“Meta SDK”). We use it for one purpose: to measure whether our advertising campaigns on Meta platforms (such as Facebook and Instagram) result in app installs and purchases. When you use the App, the Meta SDK may automatically collect and transmit to Meta Platforms, Inc. and its affiliates:
- Device and app information — such as your device’s Google Advertising ID, device model, operating system version, app version, language, and time zone;
- App events — such as when the App is installed, when it is opened, and when an in-app purchase is completed (including the purchase amount, currency, and the identifier of the course pack purchased — but never your payment details);
- Network information — your IP address, as an inherent part of transmitting this data over the internet.
This data is pseudonymous: it is linked to an advertising identifier, not to your name or contact details, which we do not have. Meta processes this data in accordance with its own privacy policy, available at https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy. If you hold a Facebook or Instagram account, Meta may associate this activity with your account under its own terms; that association happens on Meta’s side and is governed by Meta’s policy and your Meta account settings.
We do not sell this data, and we do not receive any personally identifying information back from Meta — only aggregated campaign statistics.
3. In-app purchases
Some course packs in the App can be unlocked through one-time in-app purchases processed by Google Play’s billing system. The entire payment transaction — including collection of your payment details — is handled by Google under Google’s own privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). The App receives from Google Play only a confirmation of what was purchased, which it stores locally on your device to keep your courses unlocked, and which it reports to Meta as a purchase event as described in Section 2.
4. Information stored on your device
To provide its core features, the App stores a small amount of information locally on your device using Android’s standard app storage:
- Lesson progress — the identifiers of lessons you have marked as complete;
- Display preferences — such as your selected theme;
- Purchase records — a local record of which course packs are unlocked on your device.
Lesson progress and preferences never leave your device. You can erase progress at any time using the “Reset progress” option in the App’s Settings screen, by clearing the App’s storage from your device settings, or by uninstalling the App. Your purchase entitlements remain associated with your Google account and can be restored through Google Play.
5. Internet access and offline operation
All course content is bundled with the installation package and can be read without an internet connection. The App uses the internet for only two purposes: (1) communicating with Google Play to display prices, process purchases, and restore purchases; and (2) transmitting the advertising-measurement events described in Section 2. Reading lessons requires no connection at all.
6. Third-party services
The App integrates the following third-party services:
- Google Play Billing (Google LLC) — payment processing for in-app purchases. Privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Meta SDK / App Events (Meta Platforms, Inc.) — advertising measurement, as described in Section 2. Privacy policy: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy
The App contains no advertising networks, no analytics platforms beyond the measurement described above, and displays no ads. The distribution platform through which you obtained the App — Google Play — operates independently of us and handles installation, updates, and store activity under its own privacy policy.
7. Your choices and opt-out
- Advertising ID: You can reset or delete your device’s advertising ID at any time in your Android settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads, or Settings → Google → Ads, depending on device). Deleting the advertising ID prevents it from being used for measurement going forward.
- Meta controls: If you have a Meta account, you can review and manage how Meta uses activity received from apps through Meta’s “Off-Facebook activity” / “Activity off Meta technologies” settings.
- Offline use: Because course content is stored on your device, you may read the App while offline, in which case no measurement events are transmitted while you remain offline.
8. Permissions
The App requests the following Android permissions, none of which involve a runtime prompt or access to your personal files:
- INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — required for Google Play purchases and for the measurement events described in Section 2;
- AD_ID — allows the Meta SDK to read the device’s resettable Google Advertising ID for measurement purposes.
The App does not request any permission granting access to your contacts, location, camera, microphone, photos, or files.
9. Children’s privacy
The App is intended as a general-audience educational resource and is not directed specifically at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Advertising-measurement data described in Section 2 is pseudonymous and is not used to build profiles of children. If you believe a child’s data has been processed contrary to this policy, please contact us at the address below.
10. Data security and retention
Information stored locally by the App is protected by the security model of the Android operating system. We operate no servers and hold no database of user data; the measurement data described in Section 2 is transmitted directly to Meta and retained by Meta in accordance with its own retention policies. We ourselves retain nothing.
11. Your rights
Privacy laws in various jurisdictions — including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) — grant individuals rights of access, correction, deletion, and objection over their personal data. Because we do not ourselves hold any personal data about you, requests concerning data held by Meta or Google should be directed to those companies through the controls described in Section 7 and their respective privacy policies. If you contact us with a privacy request, we will assist you in identifying the correct channel and will honour any obligation that applies to us directly.
12. Educational content notice
Course material in the App is provided for general educational and informational purposes. It does not constitute professional, technical, legal, financial, or career advice, and should not be relied upon as a substitute for independent professional judgement.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, if a future version of the App changes what data is processed. Any revised version will be published at this address with an updated “Last updated” date, and material changes will be reflected in the App’s Google Play Data Safety declaration. Your continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
